Whitney Houston Look-A-Like Teresa Graves

Fred Williamson & Teresa Graves In "Black Eye"
Actress Teresa Graves, who was a groundbreaking actress, starred as the sexy undercover cop on The 1970s TV series "Get Christie Love!"  However, in the movie "Black Eye" she  has a scene with co-star Fred Williamson where she so reminded me of Whitney Houston in many ways.

In, my opinion the two stars resemble in the face, body size/type, and some mannerisms.

They both also died relatively young.

Graves died October 10, 2002 at the age of 53 due to a fire at her home in Los Angeles.  She was found unconscious in a rear addition to the house where a faulty space heater sparked the blaze.

Her home in the city's Hyde Park district was equipped with working smoke detectors, but Graves may not have heard them from the room she was in. Neighbors said Graves lived with her mother, who had suffered a stroke the year before.

Houston died February 11, 2012 at the age of 48 due to accidental drowning (related to her use of cocaine) in a hotel room bathtub in Los Angeles.

Both stars left their careers to focus on their religious pursuits.  However, Houston also had other well-known contributing factor to her departure from her very successful, lucrative yet demanding career; and in the few years prior to her untimely death, tried to make a "comeback".

Graves is perhaps best known for her title role as a sassy Los Angeles police detective in the ABC action drama "Get Christie Love," which aired from September 1974 to July 1975 and was one of the first prime-time series with a black woman in the lead. Other credits include a big-screen role as the Countess Vampira in the 1974 British horror spoof "Old Dracula," starring David Niven.

Get Christie Love – “You’re under arrest sugah!” were the words uttered by policewoman Christie Love when she caught an offender. Christie was hip and tough as she swung her enormous pocketbooks at the bad guys - and watch out for her karate moves and confrontational dialogue like "I got news for you lieutenant Christy Love isn't a quitter, Sugah. She intends to fight!" Historically, this was the first series with an African-American woman in a dramatic lead. She ended up leaving the series when she began to seriously pursue her religious beliefs. She died in a house fire many years later.

She also was a regular on NBC's "Laugh-In" from 1969 to 1970 and appeared in 1969's multimedia/variety flop "Turn-On," one of the biggest one-episode fiascos in television history. According to the Los Angeles Times, her final showbiz appearance was in a Bob Hope special in 1982.
